All I wanted was a hat.Last weekend was my annual guy’s trip to Flagstaff, AZ for myself and some of my closest friends. Since 2015, we’ve gone north for an annual beer fest and we were again excited to go on a middle aged, surburban odyssey that guaranteed laughs and the usual antics. We also like to see what swag is available from the various breweries! The first brewery tent we visited was O.H.S.O. Brewery as they always have great shirts and more importantly, fantastic beer. Their breweries in Arcadia and Gilbert are my top places to eat & drink at regularly. They didn’t have shirts, but they had a variety of hats. And even though I was wearing a hat from a different brewery (that’s not from AZ), I needed one of those hats! To win one, you had to sample one of their offerings and successfully toss a frisbee into a metal bucket.Fortunately for them, I’m great at sampling beers and terrible at tossing frisbees! So, a couple of tickets & tosses later and I was just absolutely terrible. I asked one of the gents working the tent how much the hats cost at the brewery and that I’d just swing by this week and pick one up.He replied, “If you take off the hat you’re wearing right now, you can have one of our hats.”DONE!I’m not sure if it’s because he appreciated my persistence or loyalty to their brand. Maybe because he could see I truly love O.H.S.O.’s beer (and food). Or maybe he just wanted to get rid of me.Regardless, I got the hat. More importantly, I had an unexpectedly generous customer service experience. What a great reminder that a positive interaction and use of marketing will continue to lead frequent visits. Kindness rarely costs anything, and typically results in the customer making an investment in return. #BrandLoyalty #SupportLocalBusiness #InvestingInYourCustomers #Arizona #LocalFirst #TellThemCraigSentYou

Event tip 🌟 Allocate responsibility! People want to help. We see this very often where organisers do not delegate tasks or activities. Remember people actually want to help you and feel better when they can offer something to benefit your day.Just ask the question!
