While standard seats fit most other canoes, the Old Town style seat accommodates the wider center-to-center bolt pattern of many popular Old Town models. Trim to fit and choose either cane or rugged web seat material. Hardware Sold Separately. For the Bow/Stern option, the seat rails measure 34 inches and are approximately 8-3/4 inches on center (hanger bolt spacing). Seating area is approximately 13x10.375. For the Center option, the seat rails measure 41 inches and are approximately 8-3/4 inches on center (hanger bolt spacing). Seating area is approximately 21x10.375.

The Bow & Stern Cane Seat 34 replacement will fit all Old Town canoes as well as many others. Some cutting is required as this is made to fit all models.

I need to replace both seats in a Penobscot 16. Most replacement seats are 8.5" center to center, but the measurements for my canoe is 8.75". So it looks to be 1/8" off for each side- is that a big deal? Should I seek out the exact specifications or will drilling them out not perfectly centered make a difference?
